I called and scheduled an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. A short while later, the store called me back to cancel. They claimed that their call center has no authority to schedule appointments due to the fact that they are overseas and do not understand how long it takes to complete basic maintenance. Despite having used Car-X many times in the past, I can no longer trust this company to perform any more work on my vehicle and will be searching elsewhere. This company does not value truth and no longer has integrity since being bought out by private equity. I would recommend Mr. & Mrs. Tire across the street.

I have been a customer of CarX in West Lafayette for several years, and I can confidently say they provide outstanding service every time. Over the years, I have brought in three different vehicles (Sienna, PT Cruiser & Sonata) and regardless of the make, model, or mechanical issue, the team has always delivered prompt, professional, and reliable service. What I appreciate most is their consistency. Whether it’s routine maintenance or a more complex repair, they take the time to explain the issue, recommend the best solution, and complete the work efficiently. I have never had any problems with the repairs or services performed. A special thank you to Scottie, who is absolutely amazing. Scottie is knowledgeable, professional, honest, and genuinely cares about customers. His excellent customer service and attention to detail are a big reason I keep coming back. If you’re looking for a trustworthy auto shop in West Lafayette (especially Us ladies and Purdue students), I highly recommend CarX. They’ve earned my confidence and business year after year.

Abrasive Staff & Call Center Confusion Called in this morning to check in about an oil change and was connected with the call center that let me know they had a 10:30 am drop off time available, which I booked. When I arrived to CarX, I was greeted in a negative, abbrasive manner by the front desk attendant, who told me that he could do nothing for me today, I did not speak to anyone at this location, the call center doesn't book for them (???), and I would have to come back later/another day. I explained I had just called the phone number listed (call center) and thought I was booked. The front desk person kept rudely telling me he could do nothing for me today and kept stating I spoke to no one at the location so I didn't have any booking. I then told the attendant I wanted to pause the conversation because I didn't appreciate how he was talking to me, and I was just trying to get clear information. After some more back and forth rudeness, I told the attendant to have a good day, and left the store. I was probably in the store for less than two minutes, but it was enough to know I won't use this location again for my car needs if this is how the staff wants to talk with custom

Honest and knowledgeable. My daughter's car, who is away at college,had an issue which turned out to be a transmission issue. The manager called me and let me know. Didn't charge me anything. Hard to find a trustworthy shop now adays. It's comforting to know that a trustworthy business is in West Lafayette, having 2 kids at Purdue.

Great experience at Car-X West Lafayette I had a great experience at Car-X West Lafayette while traveling from West Lafayette to Chicago on 12/14/25. My car’s engine started overheating due to a low coolant level, so I stopped by to have it checked at Car-X. Scott Smith’s team was incredibly helpful and honest. Joe took the time to diagnose the issue, attempted to fix the problem, and refilled the coolant. What truly stood out was their integrity — despite all the time and effort he put in, he didn’t charge me anything. I really appreciate their thoughtfulness and support at a time of need. I would highly recommend Car-X West Lafayette to anyone looking for honest and dependable automotive service.
